| This
program examines the profound effects on the emotional and
financial well-being of the family when unemployment occurs.
The panel also examines resources throughout the state including
One-Stop Career Centers that offer a variety of services
and training programs designed to help individuals locate
employment. Further, the future of the New Jersey economy
is considered, and "job sectors" that are projected
to show the most growth over the next ten years are explored.
The plight of the underemployed and in particular, the complex
challenges faced by low-wage earning single mothers and
the need for flexible training programs is examined. An
individual facing unemployment or underemployment may be
experiencing anxiety, frustration, and confusion. Strategies
to maintain open and constructive communication throughout
the family system during times of extreme stress are discussed.

of the work place for over 7 years, getting back in was
proving almost impossible until she took advantage of the
foodbank's “food services training academy”.
We also talk with Kathleen Dichiara, President and CEO of
the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.
