Description

This program will focus on our level of preparedness should New Jersey face a terrorist attack, a health pandemic, natural disaster such as a hurricane or blizzard, or other large-scale emergency like a nuclear plant meltdown that threatens public safety.  The panel examines what the healthcare industry and our state our federal leaders are doing to ensure the safety of citizens.  Practical ways people can prepare their family and their homes for disaster is also considered.  New Jersey has extensive plans in place to assist its residents with shelter, food, water, and antibiotics. Counseling services are also available. In some parts of the state, 2-1-1 has been established as a new help line number to connect you with organizations that provide these services.
